Per Ms. Orangecloud's suggestion (and who can say no to her?), here's a new topic for discussion. I'm putting this out here to stir things up a bit (hence the subject line). I'm not taking a stance here...just putting it forward for now.
Should a proven, convicted serial killer/rapist/whatever receive the death penalty ? If so, under what conditions ? If not, why not ?
Addendum: Is the current prison system a deterrent to crime ? How could/should it improve ? Is it too "soft" on hardened criminals ?
